Milan:
With over 6 years of experience in volleyball, Milan brings a wealth of knowledge and passion for volleyball to Cougars. She began her coaching career with Cougars in 2021 as an assistant coach for the girls U14 team.
Her coaching philosophy focuses on teamwork, discipline, and strategic innovation. She brings great emphasis on individual skill development, along with team cohesion. Milan believes that volleyball is not just a sport, rather a platform that fosters individual and team growth. Her goal is to build a team that excels both on and off the court.
Aside from coaching volleyball, she is currently studying criminology and psychology at the University of the Fraser Valley. She hopes to implement her studies in a way that curates a more holistic approach that will enhance technical and personal development. Milan is excited to bring her expertise and enthusiasm to Cougars and looks forward to helping players reach their full potential!
Sophia:
Sophia has been playing volleyball for around 10 years and coaching for 4 years. She first started playing for club and her high school team when she was 13, and later coached her high school girls team. Sophia joined the cougars coaching staff last season as an assistant coach and has gained a wealth of knowledge from the amazing girls and coaches she worked with!
She holds an abundance of respect and passon for the sport, the players, and the parents; she is also extremely excited to start the season off and watch them improve and foster relationships beyond the game. It is important for her that the players have fun, be safe, develop their skills in a healthy manner to maintain longevity, and grow as an individual and team.
Off the court, Sophia studies at UBC and is finishing up her degree in a Bacholers of Arts, she is also passonate about living a healthy lifestyle, being around friends, and learning new things! -

Mondays 8 - 10pm
Wednesdays 8 - 10pm

Club Fees for the season will be $1,550.00
This includes:
All team practices
Jerseys and other gear (Personal Ball)
3 Volleyball BC Tournaments
Provincials
This does not include:
Nationals
Any other tournaments the team and coaching staff would like to participate in
Fees associated with away tournaments
If returning athletes have gear they would like to bring back
They will receive a discount on club fees for the following amount:
Jersey: $47.50

Cougar Volleyball guarantees a safe and fair training environment where all coaches will treat athletes with respect. The expectation is that athletes treat each other, and all coaches, with respect as well.
Unless explicitly stated, play time will not be equal. Cougar Volleyball is a competitive club program and athletes will be awarded with more play time if they demonstrate competency in the following areas (in no particular order):
Athleticism
Ball Control
Positional Skill
Positive Attitude
Desire to Learn
Leadership
Attendance at Training
Commitment to the Team
Play time will not be decided by factors such as unsubstantiated favoritism or relationship with the coach.
If any athlete or parent has a complaint with their coach, please address it in the following manner:
1) WAIT at least 24-48 hours before any action.
2) Respectfully bring the issue forward with the coach, either in person or via email. Discuss and look to find a solution that works for both parties.
3) If conflict persists, send an email to rmcougarvolleyball@gmail.com with the nature of the concern and the administrative team at Cougars Volleyball will look to mediate the conflict.

Tryout fee is $30.00, this is non refundable. Please ensure you can make the time before you register for tryouts.
Tryouts are held at the Cougar Volleyball warehouse.
Tryouts are the following dates:
Sunday December 1st
Wave 1: 9am - 11am
Wave 2: 11:30am - 1:30pm
Wave 3: 2pm - 4pm
Callback tryout:
Sunday December 1st 7pm-9pm
