Club Tryout Prep

Tryout/Season prep offers athletes a valuable insight into key skills, abilities, and values to help them excel both on and off the court. Focusing not only on skill building, but also relationship building, inclusivity and a safe environment, this clinic has been designed to provide critical and valuable coaching feedback, while allowing the athletes to grow independently, have fun, and compete to the best of their abilities. We strive towards creating and maintaining a competitive integrity, but rather than fighting the competition, encouraging the competition to become the best player, individual, and team possible.

This program runs 4 hours / week for 7 weeks and will initially have ages combined from Grade 8-11. Drills and Games will be divided in a way that provides every athlete with the greatest opportunity for success and growth possible, while maintaining a fun, yet challenging environment. Check the program Dates and Location to see if this is a good fit for you!

    Philosophy:

Having a background in Applied Behavior Analysis and as an Education Assistant, I try to bring a passionate and enthusiastic presence to my coaching. While competing and winning plays a factor in sports, I truly value the engagement and appreciation of the sport more than anything. I firmly believe that coaching goes beyond our time spent on the court, and that it’s my goal as a coach mentor, to initialize a healthy, inclusive, and competitive team dynamic as a baseline to success. Every athlete will have their own path to success, and I hope I can play a part in helping them achieve their goals.

    Background:

Currently working as a full time Education Assistant in SD42 and as a Volleyball Coach across the Lower Mainland and Tri-Cities, I have gained and developed an immense and extensive amount of knowledge and wisdom. I have been fortunate enough to have been exposed to a vast number of different coaching styles and abilities and have developed my own philosophy and style around what I consider having been the best. Working as a tutor, camp leader, behavior interventionist and along with my current employment, I have gained a true gift for relationship building and have a very in-depth understanding of the importance of a healthy and safe environment. You will often find me fully engaged with my athletes, participating in drills, promoting team bonding experiences and encouraging other teams from within the club at their events. Fully fluent in both English and French, I’m certain that I can play an important role in helping all my athletes achieve success and provide a memorable experience, nonetheless.
